Glossy Box- February 2012

So OK I am quite a bit late with this post....

After seeing a lot of reviews on this, I myself to decided to join in.
There are a lot of similar company's that do same type of box. You may of heard of Glossy box, Carmine and Jolibox
All around £10 a month (+p&p) and all with at least 5 different products in. These maybe hair products, skincare, make-up, fragrance and /or shower/bath items.
So after hearing that there was going to be a 'mystery box' for March (everyone loves a surprise!) I thought I might as well give it ago, and if I do not like what I get in my boxes I could always try a different branded box :)

So here is what I got in my first box (I haven't got my Harrods box yet, will post as soon as I get it)

Comes in a lovely pink box with the glossy box logo on the front.

All wrapped up....

Pretty :D

hand sanitizing spray, lip and cheek tint, mineral eye shadow, styling treatment oil and invigorate shower gel

Do you receive anything like this? And if so what have been your favourite product you have received?

much love

Mac lipstick- Modesty

So I was out having some retail therapy in the lovely Cambridge. It was so busy for a Sunday, literally couldn't move around the shops. Though one shop wasn't too busy. MAC. From reading other peoples blogs, i had gathered a rather (large) small list from MAC lipsticks that I wanted to have a look at. This list also consists of other make up related items that I would like in my life. i.e the naked pallet.

There was quite few on the list I looked at, and thought either 'too pink' or 'too bright'.
See what I mean by a (large) small list?. I already have Creme cup, which I use on a daily basis.

So another lipstick I can tick off my list is:

A lovely pinky-nude colour, gives a lovely finish, and doesn't dry up my lips. I would probably use this as a day lipstick as it is little pale.

Another little idea I found on a blog.
How much do you like 'Gu puds'? (These can be found in big supermarkets)
Well they come in little glass tumblers. In the past i have used these as tea light holders.

But here is another use

(n.b apologies for Christmas tree ribbon. My sister made them for the table arrangement at Christmas)
So ok you can't store a huge amount but it does look pretty funky, and you can stand them up so you can see all the names. Its quite a good idea to put the ones you use more often and/or mix about the the ones to put away so that they get a bit of light :)

How do you store your make up? Does involve eating a lot of chocolate puddings?!

Thank you for reading :)

My Japonesque Brushes-mini review

So most people talk about the MAC brushes or their Sigma brushes.

Well I'm going to tell you about my recent splurge on some Japonesque brushes.

I saw firstly saw them on www.boots.com on offer. They were on something like 'Buy one get one half price'. Which is quite a good little offer as their brushes range from £9-£29.

Here are the brushes I bought

I bought a eye crease brush, a blusher brush, a medium fluffy brush and a angled foundation brush

Don't get me wrong I do have a couple of MAC brushes which I love to bits . But being these are the 'Travel size' brushes they were an absolute treat if I'm going away. They are really light and nice to handle.
I'v got a Ruby and Millie blusher brush, (it came in one of those Christmas packs a couple of years back). And for someone like me who was a 'beginner' in make up and and no sodding idea how to do anything. I used the Ruby and Millie one to start of with. And let me be really honest, its absolutely rubbish. Being that now I am a bit more knowledgeable about it all, I want and need products that work well for me.
Now going back to Japoneque...I found this on the website on their 'about us' bit

'Founded over 20 years ago, JAPONESQUE® has earned the reputation of creating the most versatile, innovative and distinctive make up brushes and beauty accessories in the industry.

I do love using these brushes, they work perfect for me and for the price, they definitely do their justice :)

Which is your favourite brushes? Do you use any of the Japonesque featured?
